On the Fisher Family:
Family legend is that the father of these three brothers came
from Germany at age 16 and had no other know relatives in the
States. George wa a doctor during the civil war. His 1st wife,
the mother of the three boys was a Miss Owen and her mother was
a Millard. The 1880 Census states their parents were born in
Illinois. After his first wife died, Dr. Fisher married 2nd a
lady named Cranford. The brothers had relatives in Malvern and
claimed kin to Tom Fisher, who was Sheriff of Hot Springs County
from 1923 to 1941. A second legend further states that the mother
was a full blood Cherokee Indian and their father was killed
during the civil war while trying to help wounded men near the
front lines. 1. Henry Millard Fisher b. Jan 13, 1847 d. Aug.
24, 1908 married Tennessee McDowel b. March 20, 1856 d. April
