Deceased Name: Oweetah Skeeter' Cranford Matthew Goldie
Oweetah Mae "Skeeter" Cranford Matthew Goldie, 100, died of
congestive heart failure Thursday, Dec. 15, at Victorian Manor in
Yucaipa. She was a resident of Mentone for more than 30 years.

She was born Feb. 3, 1905, in Arkansas and moved to California with
her family while she was a small child. During World War II she
worked as a parachute packer at Norton Air Force Base in San
Bernardino.

She moved to Mentone with her second husband, Lawrence Matthew Sr.,
who died in 1981. She later married James Goldie and they lived at
the Carriage Isle Mobile Home Park in Mentone for many years. She had

one son, Donald Redwine, who has died.

Goldie was an avid bowler, her longtime friend Alice Reeves of
Mentone said, and she sang in the choir at the Church on the Hill in
Redlands.

Survivors include her sister Dorothy C. Cross of Hilo, Hawaii.

Graveside service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Montecito Memorial
Park, 24145 Barton Road, Colton. Cortner Chapel is handling arrangements.

Deceased Name: Elliott Monroe Cranford
Elliott Monroe Cranford, 88, a retired sales manager, died Nov. 26.
Services were held at Lake Hills Community Church, Laguna Hills. In
lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made to the
American Cancer Society.

Survivors: sons, Gene, Tom, Jerry; brother, Paul; five grandchildren;

four great-grandchildren.
